Used 2013 Gibson SG '61 Reissue Les Paul Maestro w/ Case - Heritage Cherry 071321

This Item is in Very Good Condition. There is a very small ding on the back near the backplate, some scratches on the pickguard, and a small amount of rash on the back of the upper horn, most likely from a strap (see pics). Includes original hard shell case, owner's manual, dated / signed inspection card, truss rod wrench, and an extra arm for the trem system.

In 1961, Gibson decided to drastically change the design of their now most famous guitar, the Les Paul. The new design featured a much thinner and lighter all mahogany body (doing away with the maple top) with a double cutaway. Les Paul, along with countless others, disliked the design. However many others loved it. This is why the original Les Paul body shape was brought back and this new design remained as a different model altogether - the Gibson SG. Since then, the SG has become an icon in the guitar world, seen on massive stages all over the world - most notably in the hands of Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), Angus Young (AC/DC), Frank Zappa (The Mothers of Invention), Eric Clapton (Cream), Pete Townshend (The Who), Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Carrie Brownstein (Sleater-Kinney), Derek Trucks (Tedeschi Trucks Band / Allman Bros. Band), and John Fowler (Resonant Soul [;)]).

This particular '61 Reissue Les Paul SG was built in Gibson's USA factory on January 9, 2013 with the same features, design, and vibe as the originals made in 1961. It plays and sounds exceptionally well and is currently setup with very low action (approximately 12mm at the 12th fret) with no fret buzz or dead spots, although we will happily set it up to your personal specifications if you prefer higher action.
