Since its creation in 1954, the Fender Stratocaster has been one of the most iconic guitars ever made. The versatile play-ability, unique design, and exceptional sound has made it a staple in modern music. The Stratocaster has influenced a wide range of genres such as classic 50s surf rock, whaling psych sounds from the 60s, modern blues, jazz, pop, soul, rock, funk, and more!

Some notable musicians who have played stratocasters include George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, Dick Dale, Buddy Guy, Eddie Hazel, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bonnie Rait, Debbie Davies and many more!

This particular Strat is a bit of a Partscaster in the sense that the neck has been replaced. We are unsure of the origin of the neck but it is high-quality. The neck was originally intended for a left-handed guitar, giving it the appearance of a reverse-headstock guitar. Because of this. the side fret markers are now on the treble side of the neck. A previous owner had begun adding fret markers to the bass side of the neck that would be visible while playing this guitar right-handedly. The holes are drilled for the markers but the markers themselves have never been put in place. The neck has been tested by our in-house luthier and has received his seal of approval. The truss rod is fully functional. The frets are level and in great shape. And the neck fits perfectly into the pocket. There is a chance this may be a Fender neck but it lacks any identifying marks.

The humbucker in the bridge position is a Seymour Duncan JB. The single coils are the original Fender pickups. It has a standard 5-way pickup selector with one volume and one tone control. The tone knob is a push-pull pot that splits the bridge pickup. The locking trem system is an "Original Floyd Rose."

Arguably the best part of this guitar is the addition of the "419 Bernie" sticker. If you have ever been a part of the music "scene" in the Northwest Ohio / Southeast Michigan area - or ever even attended a show, chances are good that you remember Bernie Rachuba. RIP Bernie. If this means nothing to you, its lucky for you that stickers can be removed relatively easily.

All instruments purchased from Small Box Music include a complete inspection and custom setup by our in-house luthier at no additional charge.
