Roger Sadowsky is one of the most highly respected luthiers in the world, having gained acclaim early in his career for performing outstanding repair and restoration work on guitars and basses.
In the early 1980s, when the vintage guitar market boom caused many quality instruments to become unobtainable to working musicians, Roger decided to start build instruments from scratch that incorporated many of the sought-after aspects of these instruments, along with all of the improvements and advancements that he had developed in his work. His background in acoustic guitar building also played a key role in his designs, allowing him to build lightweight, acoustically resonant instruments.
Sadowsky basses are now known to be some of the best available on the market today and have been seen on stage in the hands of players such as Jason Newsted, Walter Becker (Steely Dan), Fred Smith (MC5), Prince, and George Hawkins Jr (Loggins & Messina).
The MetroExpress line offers all of the great designs, tone, look, vibe, feel, and quality that players have come to expect from Sadowsky, at a fraction of the price of the Metro line, making these excellent instruments even more accessible to working musicians across the globe.
