D'Angelico Premier Tammany - Aged Natural
The D'angelico guitar company began with one man- John D'angelico, who founded the company in 1932 in Little Italy, Manhattan. At it's peak in the late 1930's D'angelico was known as the premier archtop builder. After John passed away the company lied dormant for years before three men-Brenden Cohen, John Ferolito Jr., and Steve Pisani- bought the company name in 1999. The new owners began with only a few reissues of original D'angelico guitars, the company soon took off and began experimenting with new designs. Some noteable players for the company include Bob Weir, Chet Atkins, and Susan Tedeschi.
An interesting sounding acoustic with an aesthetic to match it's unique voice. The Premier Tammany is an Orchestra sized body style made from a solid mahogany top and layered mahogany back and sides. Thick, warm sounding low end with crisp upper mids lends itself to a bluesy rootsy sound, a great choice for a variety of singer songwriters and guitarists. The aged open pore finish helps the guitar's natural voice sing out in a clear direct fashion. With the Premier Tammany, D'angelico have created a hip sounding and looking acoustic that leaves an impression.
