This Item is in Very Good Condition. A previous owner installed a DeArmond Hershey Bar pickup, along with volume and tone controls that were mounted on the non-original pickguard. More recently, new tuning machines, frets, and a new nut were professionally installed. There was a crack on the back that was professionally repaired (see pics). The Recording King logo has been worn off from the headstock.
Recording King guitars were originally sold in the Montgomery Ward catalog and stores. Some of them were made by Gibson in their USA factory in Kalamazoo, MI. This is one of those guitars. It has since had experienced some upgrades, modifications, and repairs that have transformed it into a true player's piece as well as a piece of American Music history.
